Waiting on friends to make up their mind if they want to go on a trip will not prevent me from booking it. If no one can roll with me I don’t mind going solo. In fact, there are some instances where I prefer to go solo. The foodie in me is often times misunderstood and its easier to go on my “foodventure” by myself. Don’t get me wrong traveling with friends or a companion can be fun but if you are unable to find anyone to go with…. go anyway! Don’t wait, go! Live your life! Life is too short to be waiting on people, especially if they waste your time and in the end tell you they can’t go. Don’t be afraid to spend time with yourself, and don’t be afraid of what other people may think because you are by yourself. I’ve had so many friends, family members and strangers(from my travels) tell me that they wish they were still young, single and had the courage to travel by themselves. If you have the opportunity to fly solo, take advantage of it.
Having said that, I booked a trip to Mexico to spend a few days after my birthday just to relax by the beach, splurge on great spa treatments and eat good food. My friends couldn’t make it so I went by myself. It was a nice time for me to relax, reflect on my life and overall spend quality time with myself. You’d be surprised how much you can learn about yourself after you step outside of your comfort zone.
Relaxing on Las Caletas Beach, waiting for my spa appointment at the top of the hill.
Stay tuned for more on my Mexico trip!!!
