Attending my first Cubs game in the city I was born was awesome! This was only my second MLB experience and it was so much better than the last since the city means a lot more to me.
I had pretty awesome seats!
Of course I had to try an authentic Chicago dog(at least at the time I thought it was authentic, before trying Portillo’s which was 10x better!) I love spicy food and I’m not much of a hot dog fan, so the fact that “Chicago” hot dogs has pickles, peppers and onions on their hot dogs is the only reason why I eat them, not to mention the best way to eat them!
Just a few miles north of Chicago is the suburb Evanston. I hadn’t been back to Evanston since I was born. It was only right for me to finally see where it all began. I’ve always seen it on my birth certificate, it was cool to finally put a face to the name. Saint Francis Hospital.
Evanston is a very beautiful city…wonder what my life would have been like had I grew up there..would I have become a Northwestern Wildcat instead of an Ohio State Buckeye??? Nah! I would have found my way to Ohio State regardless!!!
A fence at a school down the street from the hospital.
On the last day of my trip I had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. 3 hours was not enough time to get around this museum. I witnessed lightening strike inside, stood in the middle of a tornado among other things. It was an awesome museum to visit. Going to a Cubs game a few months before they won the World Series is a memory I will cherish forever!!
